Glo House | Launch PR Strategy + Event

Glo House — Brisbane’s first and only fully transparent event venue — engaged BAYLY PR to lead the launch PR strategy and event activation for the opening of its glasshouse-inspired pavilion in Roma Street Parkland. Set against the lush backdrop of one of Brisbane’s most iconic public gardens, the venue offers a cross between a luxe conservatory and a floating greenhouse, with capacity for up to 400 guests and full climate control across weddings, milestone celebrations, brand launches, fashion shows and corporate events. The brief: secure cut-through coverage in a crowded Brisbane events market, position Glo House as the city’s most exciting new venue concept, and convert media interest into real venue enquiries from the day the doors opened.

THE STRATEGY

Glo House had a genuinely distinctive product — a fully transparent, fully transportable glasshouse event pavilion in a city that has never had one before. BPR’s strategy was built on translating that architectural USP into media currency, framing every pitch around a single, undeniable hook: Brisbane’s first and only fully transparent event venue. That clarity of positioning gave journalists an angle they could lead with, and it ran consistently through every piece of coverage secured.

The campaign rolled out in two coordinated waves. In the lead-up to opening, BPR developed a comprehensive Phase 02 project plan and client bible, refreshed the press release and core collateral, and ran targeted media previews with Best of Brisbane, Style Magazines and Urban List to seed early awareness with Brisbane’s most influential lifestyle outlets. Pitching was layered, sustained and personalised — generating pre-launch features across online, eDM, Instagram and Facebook channels in the two weeks before doors opened.

The launch event itself was designed as a content and coverage moment in its own right: a sequin-clad opening night for Brisbane’s VIPs and industry figures, anchored by a live performance from Brisbane singer Irena Lysiuk, glittering galas styling, mirrored balls and disco flair. Five BPR staff were on the ground supporting media arrivals, talent moments and the dedicated Courier-Mail photo opportunity that BPR coordinated end-to-end — landing a page 8 feature in the Friday paper and delivering a quality print result that would normally take months of relationship-building to secure for a new venue.

Post-launch, BPR sustained momentum by pitching the venue’s Melbourne Cup offering into local press — a deliberate move to keep Glo House in editorial conversation beyond the opening news cycle and demonstrate the breadth of the venue’s programming.

THE RESULTS

The launch successfully positioned Glo House as one of Brisbane’s most talked-about new venues, generating high-volume tier-one coverage, strong digital and social engagement, and inbound venue enquiries from the day of opening. Across the campaign, BPR delivered:

  • 24 pieces of unique media coverage secured across national, metro and lifestyle outlets, including The Courier Mail, Urban List, The Weekend Edition, Style Magazines, Best of Brisbane, Secret Brisbane, Must Do Brisbane, Brisbane Magazine and 10 News

  • 2.98 million+ combined potential audience reach.

  • Dedicated Courier-Mail photo opportunity coordinated end-to-end, landing a page 8 feature in the Friday paper with a 278,000+ reader audience.

  • Coverage across a deliberately diverse format mix — print, online, eDM, Instagram, Facebook and TV/livestream (10 News) — ensuring Glo House reached audiences through every key media touchpoint

  • 100% positive media sentiment across all 24 placements, reinforcing Glo House’s positioning as Brisbane’s most exciting new event venue concept

  • Strong inbound venue enquiries reported by the Glo House team during the campaign window, directly driving audience interest and bookings

The Glo House launch is a clear example of what happens when a genuinely distinctive product is paired with a disciplined, single-hook PR strategy. By anchoring every pitch around the venue’s “first and only fully transparent” positioning, securing a tier-one print moment that would normally take months to earn, and designing the launch event itself as a content opportunity, BPR helped Glo House enter the Brisbane events market with the kind of cultural and editorial momentum that translates directly into bookings — and into long-term brand equity that will compound well beyond the opening cycle.
